Solar Maintenance and Energy Plans

Solar Maintenance

Your solar system was designed to save you money for decades, but only if it’s properly maintained.

Without regular monitoring and professional upkeep, system performance drops, small issues go unnoticed, and costly repairs follow. Porter Electrical Contracting offers Energy Service Plans that give you expert oversight, preventive maintenance, and priority support so your system keeps performing the way it was designed to. Whether you had your system installed by us or someone else, we’re here to protect your investment.

Getting Started Is Easy

Just 4 Simple Steps to Enroll in a Solar Maintenance Plan

1. Health Check

Start by scheduling your Initial System Health Check ($500, required for all new service plan customers). This one-time visit gives us a complete picture of your system’s current condition.

2. Evaulation Report

We’ll perform a full system inspection: electrical, visual, monitoring, safety, and performance. And deliver a detailed report with findings and recommendations.

3. Choose Your Plan

Review your report and select the Energy Service Plan that fits your needs: Basic, Standard, or Premium. We’ll walk you through the options and answer any questions.

4. We've Got The Rest

Once enrolled, our team at Porter Electrical takes care of monitoring, maintenance, and support. You stay focused on running your home or business.

Required for All New Service Plan Customers — $500

Initial System Health Check

Before enrolling in any Energy Service Plan, every new customer starts with an Initial System Health Check. This one-time visit gives our team a full baseline of your system so we can monitor and maintain it properly going forward. You’ll receive a comprehensive written report with findings and recommendations, so you know exactly where your system stands before service begins.

The Health Check Includes:

  • Full System Inspection (Electrical + Visual)
  • Monitoring System Verification
  • Safety and Code Compliance Review
  • Production and Performance Baseline
  • Detailed Report with Recommendations

FAQs About Our Maintenance Plans

Do I have to be a Porter Electrical installation customer to sign up?

No. Our Energy Service Plans are open to any homeowner with an existing solar system, regardless of who installed it. We’re especially helpful for systems that are no longer supported by the original installer.

Why is the Initial System Health Check required?

The $500 health check lets us fully evaluate your system before taking it on for ongoing service. It ensures we understand your system’s current condition, establish a performance baseline, and check for any safety or code issues — so we can serve you properly from day one.

What happens if my system needs a repair during my plan?

Service plans cover monitoring, maintenance, and inspections, not major repairs or replacement parts. However, Standard and Premium plan customers receive discounted labor and parts (Premium), and all customers receive warranty claim support. We’ll always let you know upfront what any additional work will cost.

Can I upgrade my plan later?

Yes. You can move from Basic to Standard or Standard to Premium at any time. Just contact us and we’ll adjust your plan accordingly.

What if I have battery storage or an EV charger?

Our Standard plan includes inverter and battery health checks, and our Premium plan adds full battery optimization and EV charging system support. If you have these systems, we recommend at least the Standard plan.
